We invite you to join us at this week’s wine pairing and pouring tonight from 5-8 p.m. Arny will be preparing his muffuletta pasta salad. Muffuletta is a combination of olives, celery, peppers, onion, cauliflower, carrots, pimentos, vinegar and olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, originally used as a sandwich topper. The original Italian muffuletta was strictly a New Orleans sandwich, named for the bread on which it’s served. Today, muffuletta pasta salad is all the favorite things about the classic Italian flavors of the New Orleans sandwich rolled into one amazing recipe that you can make all year long.
Our wines for the evening include Fenn Valley Sparkling Riesling, 13 Celsius Sauvignon Blanc and Storypoint Pinot Noir. The Sparkling Riesling is a Michigan semi-dry sparkler made from ripe Riesling grapes. This wine has a ripe apple fruit character with a hint of orange-muscat in the finish. It is clean with no yeast or toasted character. 13 Celsius Sauvignon Blanc is crafted form exceptional grapes grown in the world-renowned region of Marlborough, New Zealand, to produce a wine that is pure and expressive. It has a vibrant aroma of citrus and sweet herbs. The crisp edge of minerality teases the refined acidity with a refreshing finish. Storypoint Pinot Noir is plush and fruit forward. It comes from some of the most renowned wine regions in California. Layers of dark plum and blackberry complement notes of toasted oak to give this robust Pinot Noir a balanced structure.
